Lead Network 2011 - 2012Welcome to the Graduate Teacher Program, a division of the Graduate School formed in 1984 to help graduate students and postdoctoral fellows perform as teaching assistants (TAs) or graduate part-time instructors (GTPIs). Our goal is to provide access to professional development opportunities for graduate students at all levels, in all schools or colleges. Our resources include three certification programs, as well as year-round teaching, research, and career advice and a variety of workshops and conferences. The Graduate Teacher Program encourages graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to take their current teaching, research and service responsibilities seriously, to view such experience and training as preparation for either academic or nonacademic careers, and to gather evidence of their professional development that can be documented in a teaching or professional portfolio for use in their job search.
