Professional Development Certificate

The Professional Development Certification is a bipartite program for advanced graduate students offered jointly by the Graduate Teacher Program (GTP) and Graduate Student Career Program (GSCP). Graduate students pursuing the Professional Development Certificate are not required to teach. Rather, participants complete a project under the guidance of a faculty mentor. Beginning graduate students who are teaching are advised to pursue the Certificate in College Teaching

The Professional Development Certification for Preparing Future Faculty (PDC:PFF) has been designed to target the needs of graduate students who wish to pursue careers within academia. This certificate provides graduate students with the opportunity to expand their understanding and appreciation for faculty careers in postsecondary institutions.

The Professional Development Certificate for Business, Government, Industry and the Arts (PDC:PFF) provides professional development opportunities for graduates or postdoctoral fellows who desire to pursue careers outside of academia.
